Does Anyone Still Own a Landline?

  • Amy

Does anyone even own landlines for home phones? With your traditional landline there is a location associated with each number and since it is not easily portable you call where the line is set up. However with the new emerging VoIP lines, users are able to take that on the go which makes it difficult with emergency service calling.

VoIP also is connected to the internet like your hips is connected to your body. You can't be making calls if your internet is down. The good news is regulatory bodies have placed stringent requirements on VoIP services regarding connectivity to emergency services. With time, this will be resolved and you can continue paying much less for phone services compared to landlines.
